WHO WE ARE
Heartland Heroes Project Inc. is a non-profit organization that was created to raise support and HONOR our HEROES both here in the United States and the men and women of our military that are stationed overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait and to help the children of these countries get an education so they can have a better future. Here in the United States we HONOR our everyday HEROES, such as the men and women of the Fire Departments, men and women of the Police Departments, Veterans and Teachers. The Military - Heartland Heroes Project Inc. would like to thank and HONOR the men and women of our military, the Veterans and their families who have served this Great Country both in peacetime and wartime. These men and women have given such great sacrifices to ensure our freedoms. They have placed their lives on the line so that we may be here today enjoying such freedoms. These men and women have answered the call of duty to defend this country and us and continue to do so. The Fire Departments - Heartland Heroes Project Inc. would like to thank and HONOR the men and women of the fire departments who have stepped up to ensure our safety and have taken on the task of facing danger each and every day. They attend to each and every emergency that may arise without any questions asked. They are willing to give their lives to ensure that we are safe. The Police Departments - Heartland Heroes Project Inc. would like to thank and HONOR the the men and women of the police departments who risk their lives everyday upholding the laws and protect the innocent of this Great Country. They uphold our rights and are willing to give their lives to help and protect us. The Teachers - Heartland Heroes Project Inc. would like to thank and HONOR the teachers of this Great Country who teach our children and ensure they have an education and a future. Many of these teachers go above and beyond the call of duty some purchasing items out of their own pockets to help our children get the education they deserve because the schools do not have enough money in their budget.
These are the HEROES we HONOR at Heartland Heroes Project Inc. These men and women deserve our support. Not only now, but in the future as well. This is the mission that Heartland Heroes Project Inc. has taken on and with your help, together we can make a difference and improve the lives of these men and women.
What We Do We work closely with the men and women of the military now stationed overseas to provide the everyday items that they are in need of. Such things as hygiene products, clothing and many other items that they have requested. The list continues to grow daily. Many of these men and women have access to the everyday items they need, but there are so many that do not have. Some of them have to wait up to three weeks to get a drop shipment if they can. Some have electricity but some do not. Some are sleeping in buildings and others are sleeping in tents. These men and women of our military have answered the call of duty and never looked back. They have left families and friends here at home in the United States to do a job that they were called upon to do. Heartland Heroes Project Inc. tries to fill the necessary requested items that these men and women are in need of, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help and support. Regardless of how you view the war, it is the men and women on the ground that needs our help. That is whom we at Heartland Heroes Project Inc. are focusing on. We have a Children’s Campaign that we have started to help the children in Iraq and Afghanistan get the things they need to get an education and help them build a better future for themselves. These children are the future of these countries. Now is the time to step in and let them know we care about them and are willing to help. Their lives have been turned upside down and they are scared not knowing what the future may bring. They lack the basic necessities for an education such as paper, pens, pencils, rulers and crayons, along with other items needed. Heartland Heroes Project Inc. would like to give the children of these countries a choice to pick up a pencil rather than a gun.
Right
now we are focusing on our men and women of the military
stationed overseas and the children of these countries.
This is where our priority lies for now. In the future we
would like to focus more on the Firemen, Policemen, Veterans and
Teachers right here in the United States. To help
the Firemen and Policemen to get the necessary equipment they
need to do their jobs.
To help the Veterans and families that are left behind in the
U.S. To help the
Teachers get the help they need to purchase the items necessary to
educate the children here in the U.S. and help build a brighter
future for tomorrow. AND TOGETHER WE CAN!
The Requests
Many of the requests made by our troops astound us. Simple things such as soap, toothbrushes, socks and shampoos are high on the list. It is amazing what little they truly have access to. Some of the soldiers have to wait upto three weeks to get the items they need. We wanted to change that so we organized Heartland Heroes Project Inc. with the vows to support those who protect us and fill as many requests that we can. We want the troops to know we are here for them and they can count on us as we do them to defend our way of life so that we as Americans can have our freedoms.
How We Do It
Heartland Heroes Project Inc. has found the way to get the things to the soldiers, but we need your help. We are collecting the items needed through donations by people like you who want to help. Every little bit that we get counts. It doesn’t matter if you donate a bar of soap or a case of coffee. It all helps. If you can’t donate any item, letters or cards are always great. We place the cards and letters into the boxes and care packages we ship to the troops. Just send something to say “thank you”. We also accept financial donations to help cover the overwhelming expenses of shipping and to purchase such things as calling cards, clothing and hygiene products. If you wish to donate monetarily, we accept, Pay Pal, Visa, Mastercard and Discover, through our website, if you wish to write a check or money order or wish to ship us items, please use one of our addresses under the ‘Contact’ button on the right or you may drop any donation off to our ‘Drop Off Locations’. Throughout the year we hold fundraisers, drives and projects to help raise the money that is needed. Please keep checking back to our website to find out where we will be next.
How You Can Help
Regardless of your views on the
war, it is not about the political views, it is about our soldiers,
the men and women who have made great sacrifices for our country. If
you have anything you would like to donate for our cause, you can
mail it to the address listed under the contact page, drop it off at
one of our drop off points or if you live in the Southern Illinois
area you can contact us directly at (618) 985-9409 to make
arrangements for us to pick it up. For monetary donations to
help us cover the cost of shipping we accept Pay Pal, Visa,
Mastercard and Discover. Just click on the 'Donate' button on
the right. If you would like to donate stamps, we enclose
pre-stamped envelopes to the soldiers so they can write back to
their family and friends here in the U.S. so just drop them in an
envelope and mail them to one of the addresses listed under our
