Says Thank You!

Heartland Heroes Project was once again met with tremendous support for their 2nd fundraising yard sale event!

To all the people who braved the weather we give you a big thank you and once again proving that Southern Illinois can come together to support the Heroes both stationed overseas and here at home.  Heartland Heroes Project could not have done it without the support of you.

A very Special Thank You to all who donated not only the items to be sold at the yard sale, but to all the volunteers that helped.

During the three day event we received over 200 stuffed animals that are making their way around the globe to be given to the children of Iraq by our soldiers.  These stuffed animals will be given to the children of Iraq who have lost everything during the war.  This helps build relation between the United States and the future of Iraq.

A Very Special Thank You to the local businesses that helped in our efforts to raise money for our own local Hero, Mrs. Deanna Heal.  Mrs. Heal has touched the lives of so many of our children in the Tri-C area and given her devotion to their education and learning.  Heartland Heroes Project is proud to honor such a person as a local Hero.  With the support both from the businesses and the individuals who braved the weather, we raised $200 for Mrs. Heal.

The Drawings for the Raffles were held on Sunday March 16th, 2008 at 3 p.m. and the winners were notified by phone.
